A couple of weeks ago, Josh, Jessica, Bella, and I went to a little beach town called Jama. It's a crazy drive to get there through windy mountain roads, people passing on turns, and roads ending without any warning. Such an adventure :) We had a pretty good time - it was just nice to have some fresh air to breathe. The sun didn't show up, but the creepy crawlies sure did! A snake fell out of a tree a couple of inches in front of my face, which resulted in lots of screaming and falling backwards up the stairs onto Jess. We didn't notice any bugs, but all of us got eaten alive the first night! We got smart and drove 30 minutes to a bigger town to buy bug spray. We had a great time just playing board games, reading, napping, snacking, and enjoying the beautiful view!
Josh and Joy are overseas missionaries, living in Quito, Ecuador. We serve at the Alliance Academy International, which until recent years has been a school for missionaries' children. It is now under the Ecuadoran Ministry of Education, so it is open to any student who would like to attend. This provides an incredible opportunity to daily share the love of Christ with kids and their parents.
Josh is the IT Coordinator, which means he is in charge of anything that has to do with computers and networks at the school. He is the only full-time IT guy there, so it can be pretty intense.
Joy works in the Skills Center, a division of the school that was created to meet the increasing special education needs . She works in the Guided Resource Center, and is a case manager for many of the GRC kids.
We are also the Class of 2012 Sponsors. We love our class dearly, and enjoy prayer breakfasts and just hanging out with them :)
We are both coaches in the same sports season - Josh in JV Basketball and Joy in Varsity Soccer.
Our passion is teenagers. We recognize the intense difficulty of this life stage, and are eager to do all we can to keep pointing these kids to Christ!
